Some "Roy Smeck" signature models were sold as Harmony branded guitars (H58, H73), but most of "Roy Smeck" guitars were sold only through the Montgomery Wards catalog, wearing only the "Roy Smeck" logo. Before that date, Harmony made guitars sold through the Wards catalog had a generic logo without any brand marking. This is a very rare configuration for this guitar with an original Burns vibrato tailpiece, white knobs, white switch tip and white pickup surrounds. 1962 Airline/Valco Town & Country in its original Blonde finish. This appears to be the 7078 Model which was based on the Harmony H942 Stella Grand Concert size flat top acoustic from about 1969. I acquired this guitar in the fall of 2008 and it has a market value of $36.37. Airline guitars and amplifiers of the 50s and 60s were built by Valco and sold through the Montgomery Ward catalog, producing some well-loved models like the Res-O-Glas, Town & Country and the 'JB Hutto' model played by modern day rockers like Jack White.
